PSO2 – We’re stepping into a trippy new world, y’all…

So, I’ve spent a few days being at a high-enough level to take on Very Hard missions, and one new thing that pops up in Very Hard is monsters from an alternate dimension.  Occasionally you will see different versions of monsters kind of like Shinies in Pokemon.  Only they’re quite a bit fiercer.

There’s a chance that, at the end of a mission, a second telepipe will appear that will actually take you into that alternate dimension.

What awaits us? Riches? Rarities?

Now, I had already taken one trip to the alternate dimension before, and what awaited me there was scores of Rappies dropping grinders up the wazoo.  So, I should step right in and get ready for…

Remind me never to take a trip down under again.
Remind me never to take a trip down under again.

…a freaking ass-whoopin’.  Now, these guys don’t hit much harder than the regular enemies around this level… but I got stunlocked to death quite handily.

While I was wandering around the field, I did notice a certain announcement that caught my eye.  Normally I ignore them since I rarely join in on Emergency Quests, but this message… well…

Wait, what?!
Wait, what?!

A concert?

Now, a few months back there was a Hatsune Miku concert that I missed out on due to not being invested in the game.  This was not Miku.  Still, it’s a bit interesting that such an event happens on occasion.

I am honestly speechless.  Still, this kind of event is pretty unique.  Some might say it’s odd for a concert to be held in the ARKS ship, but if my interpretation of a bunch of event tablets is right, the ARKS council probably hires her to raise morale.

On one last note, I’m going to make a GW2 comparison I failed to make last time.  GW2 recently implemented player placeholders while individual models load.  This was to make it so player presence can be seen instead of seeing a whole bunch of nothing.  You know what had this feature from the very beginning?  PSO2.

Placeholders
Placeholders

Granted, PSO2 has to rely on placeholders more often with a smaller number of players, but still.  They thought of it more than a year before GW2 did.

  1. Damn concerts in PSO2? Getting hardcore SDF Macross vibes; I kind of want to jump back into PSO2 again, but that grind was ridiculous.

    1. The grind got a lot better. Especially once you get a Support Partner and level it up. Unlock the Client Orders and order your Support Partner to collect items for Franka, Kressida, and maybe a Daily Order.
