Sailor Saturn’s world-destroying pose is freaking impossible

I dare anyone with the Saturn Figuarts to attempt this.

Well, Sailor Saturn finally came in, and I immediately knew what pose I wanted to try.  Imagine my surprise when I find that the exact hands I needed actually were packaged in.

They seriously thought of everything.
They seriously thought of everything.

Unfortunately, the equivalent of the hand pose Saturn uses to hold the Silence Glaive in the manga is simply incapable of actually holding the glaive.

In addition, it quickly became obvious that Saturn’s right arm simply wasn’t long enough to have the kind of clearance manga Saturn has.  Turns out, her arms are freakishly long in that pose, while the figurine’s more reasonable proportions kind of… fall short.

I had to make do with the one hand type that actually can hold on to the glaive.  My best approximation isn’t perfect, but it’s the best I could conceivably get to.

Just the figure.
Just the figure.

And she still looks terribly adorable.

Just for the record, this isn't half of my collection. Though not all that impressive considering most of the other half is Ai Yori Aoshi DVD bonuses.

Unexpectedly, Ayanami towers over Hotaru and has the vastly larger weapon.  This match wasn’t quite as even as I envisioned.
