Happening Summer… well, that’s appropriate. This is a more down-to-earth episode set in modern times with no supernatural elements whatsoever and no crazy-ass dominatrix lesbians. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for some normality for once.
We begin the episode with school letting out, starting summer vacation. Our heroine, Yuki, is walking home with her best friend, a blue-haired palette swap of Lum. They talk about their plans for the summer, and her friend talks about getting a boyfriend as soon as possible. And, presumably, having loads of sex.
She’s also teased about already having a boyfriend, though he’s just a boy that lives next door and has been friends with since childhood. It seems like we get a lot of that. But what’s going on with Kouji, said non-boyfriend, now? Well, he’s doing what all middle school boys do (one presumes)… looking at porn with his friends.
Naturally, Yuki shows up to berate him.
So now that we’ve established that Yuki and Kouji will be exploring sexuality thanks to the amazing power of puberty, let’s complicate matters, shall we?
Yuki appears to have nothing better to do, so she follows her older sister Keiko into town. They bump into Akira, Keiko’s friend, and it becomes clear Keiko was lying about going out to do shopping.
And now, for no reason, more proof the animators were having fun:
Moving on…
Yuki does a little teasing about Keiko and Akira being lovers. They deny that’s the case and Keiko explains that they’ve only met to help Akira find a job. Yuki runs off embarrassed, and Keiko and Akira give each other winks, letting us know that they were just bullshitting to get rid of Yuki.
Naturally, they’re off to have loads of sex.
In hindsight, the evidence was everywhere, wasn’t it?
We get a little bit of chat about Akira’s plans after graduation, but it ultimately doesn’t matter.
We cut to Kouji and pals looking at porn. Because, y’know… that’s the real important story here.
Yuki shows up, Kouji’s friends leave, and Kouji, apparently still horny from the porn, comes on to Yuki.
Yuki slaps the fuck out of him and runs off.
She runs back to her sister and tells her about the horrible, traumatizing event that just happened.
Keiko pretty much just brushes this off as Yuki overreacting. Then kinda teases her for missing out on her chance to lose her virginity. Not sure if bad big sister or best big sister ever.
The next morning…
She’s still angry at Kouji and thinks maybe she needs to be with a more dependable guy like Akira. Y’know, ’cause he and Keiko totally aren’t lovers. After all, they said so!
Meanwhile, we learn Akira may just be a scumbag.
Akira asks some money from Keiko for some reason. So Keiko goes running off while Yuki stays home and plays with herself while thinking of Akira.
Akira drives his sports care to Keiko and Yuki’s place, apparently having no intention of meeting Keiko for the money he asked.
Well actually, she had already finished and gotten dressed by this point. At first, I thought Akira had come to burgle the place while Keiko was out, but turns out he came specifically to hit on Yuki.
But Akira appears to go too fast too quickly and Yuki screams out. But, y’know… no slapping. That would be going too far.
Somehow, Keiko makes it back in time to save Yuki. I guess she didn’t wait up for Akira too long.
Akira gets shooed away, and Kouji comes in to the “rescue.” So, if Keiko didn’t show up, this could have been an NTR episode.
So, Kouji shows he cares, Yuki admits she loves him, and all is well.
Yuki kisses Kouji, and… wait, there’s 3 minutes left in the episode and we’re cutting to credits instead of a sex scene? FUUUUUUUUCK! No, seriously: this is a hentai! Fuck already!
