Last semester I decided to assign Thursday as my “anime night.” This proved to be a horrible idea, as it often caused me to sleep in most of Friday and get fuck all accomplished.
I’m going to be taking summer classes starting next week, and considering it’s 9 units in a 6 week period, I’m going to have barely any time to do anything during the regular week. If I’m going to have an anime night, it’ll either be Friday or Saturday.
On the plus side, my VHS log is nearly done. On the con side, this is partially because some tapes are of such poor quality that my tuner can’t capture them. I can hook my VCR up my TV and actually get to watch them, but no screen captures means that’s taking half the fun out of these. At least this isn’t a problem with DVDs. Though I do have a couple of new DVD acquisitions from the bargain bin: Geobreeders and Hyperdoll. My first review (Ayame’s High Kick) was off a DVD. I really ought to have chipped away at my DVDs as well… Eh, might as well finish off the VHS stack.
VHS Backlog:
Ninku the Movie
Genocyber: The Legend of Ark De Grande
Gunbuster
Robo Formers
Captain America II: Death Too Soon (Live action; I swear, I WILL force myself to watch this all the way through)
DVD Backlog:
Ah! My Goddess the Movie
Hyper Speed Grandoll
Evangelion:1.11 you are (not) alone
.hack//Quantum
Miramax Pokemon Collector’s Series (Pokemon Heroes, Pokemon 4Ever, Destiny Deoxys, Jirachi Wish Maker)
Geobreeders
Hyperdoll
And uh… clip of how horrible that Captain America movie is…
I didn’t even get through that entire opening before I stopped the tape. Seriously. Just when you think it’s over, IT KEEPS GOING. Probably its only saving grace will be that the main heroine is the same one from Greatest American Hero.
I’ve seen some live action Marvel stuff rerun on Sci-Fi back in the ’90s, but if I’ve seen this, the memory must be repressed. That opening makes me want to die.
Also, it turns out there are tattooed Nazi breasts in TDKR part 2. They tastefully left out the tattooed Nazi bare buttocks, though.
Er. Anyway, looking forward to more reviews! Just … don’t hurt yourself too much.
Surprisingly detailed/well-maintained blog. You should probably review the TMNT OVA—it’s kind of obligatory. Unless I missed that.
Twin I fucking miss you dude.
Oh hey, Terra. Long time no see! I don’t recall a TMNT review either.
