Heart of Thorns was released a full season ago, and with the advent of Spring comes new beginnings and changes to freshen up the Guild Wars experience for our loyal players. And so, without further ado, let’s take a look into our spring updates.
People love to complain. I know I do. But too many people complain about GW2 and don’t provide any solutions. I’m not one of those people; I enjoy problem-solving, and I find myself often coming up with ideas to improve on many aspects of GW2. I think the best solutions are the ones with realistic limitations, though, and it’s this understanding that often leads me to agree with ANet’s decisions more often than I do the player community. That said, they definitely could have done things better, and sometimes you have to go a little on the extreme side for the sake of progress and science.
I imagine if I were in charge, I would also introduce ridiculous things designed to torture the players for nothing more than the lulz. I do find it hard to tell the difference between things I think other players hate and things I genuinely want for myself though.
And so, submitted for no one’s approval: the 100 things I would do if I were on the GW2 dev team.
I was supposed to do a Geobreeders review. Instead I got MIDTERRRRRRRRRRMS. So yeah, still putting that off. Here’s Svennia taking on Source of Orr.
For the uninitiated, I have a Warrior in Guild Wars 2 named Svennia. She runs a tanky build, meaning she survives shit that oneshots almost anything else. Source of Orr is one of my favorite missions in the entire game, and it pisses me off that you can’t replay it (short of going through the personal story again with a different character). You’ll notice I didn’t take on the five Champs because Svennia may be tanky, but that’s just plain suicide.
In other news, I’m looking at themes and plugins for the blog. The only good one I found requires payment before I can customize it to my liking, so I guess I’m stuck with Twenty Ten, which has been good to me these past few years. I will be experimenting with some options to make the site look better and have a more efficient layout though. Oh, and the new anti-spam plugins I got seem to be working fine, so I’m going to allow comments to pass through without my confirmation. Please bots, don’t make me regret this.
So, I’ve been spending a crazy amount of time playing PSO2 recently. It’s improved soooooo much since I quit it… almost a year ago? Wow. There’s a whole new map for newbies, a lot of quests, permanent access to your room, not-completely-retarded EXP tables to make the grinding feel like less of a grind, a new class… so much stuff to get into.
Just because my system can’t handle Guild Wars 2, thus probably eliminating me from beta invitations, doesn’t mean I can’t do a Let’s Play.
I’m seriously hyped for this game, and having finally had the time to sit down and play it, I can’t wait for the full release.
